Commercial Cold Drinks Photography for Summer Campaigns

As temperatures rise, drinks brands have a unique opportunity to capture consumers' attention through imagery that communicates refreshment, flavour and seasonality. Whether it's an iced coffee, a cold beer, a sparkling soft drink or a frozen dessert-inspired beverage, successful commercial drinks photography is about making the viewer feel the temperature through the image.

Creating a Sense of Refreshment

One of the biggest challenges in beverage photography is communicating coldness in a still image.

Condensation, ice, splashes and texture all play a role, but colour is equally important. Cooler colour palettes, bright highlights and clean graphic compositions help reinforce the feeling of refreshment before the viewer even recognises the drink itself.

The goal isn't simply to photograph a drink; it's to create an image that makes the audience imagine taking a sip.

Using Colour to Increase Impact

Many of my personal projects focus on bold colour combinations and graphic compositions.

For commercial drinks photography, colour can become a powerful storytelling tool. The colours surrounding a product can communicate flavour, mood and even temperature.

Bright blues can suggest cooling refreshment, while warmer tones can help emphasise coffee, caramel or roasted flavour profiles.

Drinks Photography for Advertising

Unlike traditional product photography, advertising imagery often needs to communicate a broader idea or feeling.

The drinks featured in this series were photographed with a focus on simplicity and visual impact. By reducing distractions and emphasising shape, colour and texture, the images are designed to stop scrolling and create an immediate visual connection.

This approach is particularly effective for:

  • Beverage brands

  • Coffee brands

  • Alcohol and beer campaigns

  • Soft drinks

  • Ready-to-drink products

  • Hospitality and restaurant marketing
